Prepositions of place
The sentences in this multiple-choice exercise are missing prepositions that denote location/place/position. Choose the most appropriate answer for each sentence.
Remember that some prepositions are always used in the dative case. For e.g, aus, von, nach, zu, etc.
Aus means "out of" and von means "from." You would use "aus" when you want to denote nationality or where you belong. For e.g. Ich komme aus Chine means that I hail/come from China.
Von is used when you want to say that you are directly coming from some place. For e.g., Ich komme von der Arbeit literally means that you are coming from the work.
"Nach" and "zu", both mean "to." However, nach is used with reference to geographic locations or directions; zu is used in all other cases except these. Also, zu is always used with an article or combined and contracted with the article that follows it. For e.g. zu dem Bahnhof becomes zum Bahnhof.
