Passive voice in simple past
The simple past passive is most commonly used in print. This tense indicates that the action occurred in the past, but it doesn't specify that it has ended -while it certainly may have, you can use this tense when the action is still continuing in the present. It looks like this:
[patient] wurde [preposition] [agent] [past participle of verb].
For example, "Es wurde von mir geschrieben." ("It was written by me.")
